Review : Paul Mitchell Thicken Up Extra Body Hair Styling Liquid

Written on May 31st, 2006 by ProductAddictionno shouts

Now for another hair care product review.  This time it’s on a product that promises bigger sexier hair with use, instead of my usual reviews, which are products to tame the hair down and make it “smaller” and smoother.  This Paul Mitchell hair care product comes in a generously sized bottle (6.8 fluid ounces) that is skinny and tall and has a purple and opaque white color scheme.

It’s called “Thicken Up” and is described as a “Styling Liquid”.  The consistency is a thick gel like substance.  I used the product about the size of a dime in my hair after I had towel dried it and rubbed it really well all throughout.  The product is for all hair types and claims to provide flexible body and very high shine.  It’s formulated with “thickening conditioners and UV protection”.

It says you can also use it on dry hair, but I’m not so sure how that would work.  Probably if you have a shorter piecier hairstyle, it would allow you to have the piecey, choppy look a lot more if you put it in dry.

I liked this product a lot.  It allowed me to style my hair looking bigger, with more body, but it didn’t make it frizzy.  It did seem to change the consistency of my hair a bit, it made it feel a bit stiffer to the touch, which I didn’t like, but the appearance was pretty cool looking.  It held my curls all day (I put large curls in with a 1 1/2 inch barrel curling iron to give it some oomph).

Incidentally, I got a lot of compliments on my hair the day I used it. So, this is a good thing!

Lip Plumping Skin Supplement?

Written on May 30th, 2006 by ProductAddictionone shout

Ok, now after my last post, as promised I will tell you about the skin supplement that I am convinced has helped to plump my lips and make them a little fuller and more hydrated OVER TIME. I emphasize over time, because at first I did not notice the extra fullness and moisture retention, but I did REALLY start to notice about a month after I took the supplement consistently at 2-3 three tablets a day.

What is this Lip Plumping, Skin Firming supplement?

It’s a Hyaluronic acid supplement with a patented collagen ingredient called Biocell.  Here is the actual supplement I use : Hyaluronic Acid with Biocell Collagen by Skin Eternal .

It costs (the cheapest I found, which is the link I provided above) $22 for 120 tablets, which last me approximately two months, so that’s about $11 a month I spend for firmer skin and fuller lips.

I take two tablets a day now, although I started off taking three a day, but not consistently, now I’m down to two.  I make sure I chew the tablet to ensure maximum absorption, as the tablet does not taste that bad like some other vitamins and supplements.

It actually has a bit of a sweet/minty taste to it if I had to place what it tastes like.  I am so impressed with what this supplement has done for my skin and my lips, that I will definitely be a lifetime customer of this product.

It’s skin firming and lip plumping abilities are pretty cool, and it makes me feel as though I’m really taking something that will benefit my skin in the long haul.

Why I Love Lip Fusion

Written on May 29th, 2006 by ProductAddictionno shouts

I know I’ve posted about the merits of Lip Fusion, but this is yet another example of why I love it.  Someone commented to me the other day that they loved my lip gloss, and asked me why my lips looked fuller!  Yeah, I’m not even kidding.

Now I do have to say, there is another secret I have for my fuller lips, and I’m not gonna say yet, but Lip Fusion is about half the reason, as I’d just applied it (unfortunately I’m a Lip Fusion addict now, and have to apply the stuff at least three times a day, although I only apply a thin layer since I still want to be economical with it since it’s not cheap).

Anyways, in my next post I’ll tell you about a supplement that I read about which I am convinced has made my lips fuller as well.  I actually initially read about it in a forum where a woman was talking about taking this supplement for slightly fuller lips, and of course, being the full-lip seeker I am, I had to investigate!  I’m not saying I look like Angelina Jolie or anything, but I have noticed a difference.  I’ve also noticed my skin and lips seem to be more hydrated all the time.

The supplement is really a skin supplement, but has a patented ingredient in it……. I know you’re dying to know, but you’ll have to stay tuned and read tomorrow to get part II.

Veet Rasera : Three Days Later

Written on May 28th, 2006 by ProductAddictionno shouts

Now it’s been three days since I’ve used the Veet Rasera hair removal gel/cream and bladeless plastic razor, and I wanted to post a follow up review on how it worked as far as removing the hair for any length of time after you’ve used it.  This is exactly why most women are so interested in Veet, Nair and other bodily hair removal products, because they don’t want to shave as often (God knows shaving your legs every day in the summer is not something any woman wants to do).

Well, I have good news to report, while I do have a SLIGHT stubble now on day three, it’s nothing compared to the stubble I would have if I hadn’t used the system, so that’s a good thing.  I’m waiting to see how much longer it is until I absolutely have to shave.

I’m thinking now that I know this kind of stuff works, I might go a step further and buy something a little more potent that is supposed to make your hair grow a lot more slowly.  Like a permanent hair removal product that makes it hair grow slower permanently, or even can stop hair growth.

Revitol Solution Anti Aging and Anti Wrinkle Skin Care System

Written on May 27th, 2006 by ProductAddictionone shout

I wanted to write about the Revitol Wrinkle reversal and anti aging skin care system, which consists of three products that are heavily laden with a lot of the primo anti aging vitamins and natural substances that have recently gotten tons of attention for their anti aging and skin firming qualities.

Another reason these particular ingredients which are found in the Revitol Solution well as their abilities to topically reverse sun damage and aging signs such as fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and uneven color and tone caused by the aging process and environmental damage, caused by every day toxins and weathering due to our environment.

The package comes with a couple different products, each one targeted for specific skin care functions. The Revitol Anti Wrinkle Complex Treatment consists of these touted ingredients (which you find in a VERY high end line of products that is double the price of the Revitol products) : DMAE, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Dermox™ SRC, LipoLight™ OAP, Skin Tightener ST®.

Then there is the serum, called the Skin Care Hydration System, designed to specifically deliver deep hydration to your skin, so as to plump it out. Basically, with products like this, they are designed to penetrate very deeply into the subdermal layers of skin, and plump the skin cells with the fluid they need, this is what creates the youthful plumpness of young skin – because young people tend to retain way more moisture in their skin.

And trust me, this sort of technology makes a noticeable difference in your skin. The ingredients in this part of the Revitol product are : Argirelene, DMAE (known for it’s exceptional firming qualities), Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Dermox™ SRC, LipoLight™ OAP, Skin Tightener ST®.

Then there is the Revitol Moisturizing Skin Treatment Cream, which is more for night time use, to deeply hydrate and help reverse the abuse your skin has endured throughout the day. Think of it as night time intensive repair, to soothe the skin and help prepare it for the next day. The ingredients in this product are : Argirelene, Matrixyl®, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Wheat Gluten and Ceratonia siliqua, Macrocystis pyrifera, Edelweis Extract, Shea Butter, Squalene, Evening Primrose Oil, Skin Tightener ST®, Pentacare NA ®.

This product has gotten exception feedback and it provides a lot of before and after pictures, so I’d recommend it for people who are wanting serious age reversal skin care.

Veet Rasera Bladeless Razor and Hair Removal Gel Kit

Written on May 26th, 2006 by ProductAddictionone shout

Ok, so I FINALLY was able to find the Veet dipillatory cream (gel) permanent hair remover with the bladeless razor, and here is my review of the product after I used it last night.

It comes with a hair removal gel that dispenses like a shaving cream, and a plastic-bladed razor.  I left the gel on my legs for about five minutes total, and the hair came off very easily with the plastic razor being run down my legs.  I also used it a little on my bikini line.

I got very good results with it, except it smelled very bad, like a permanent body hair removal solution, and it did kind of tingle or burn a little bit, so I can see why they said not to leave it on for more than six minutes total.  The hair came right off though.  Now, the real test will be to see how long the hair stays away.

That will be a whole ‘nother follow up review of the Veet hair remover products!

Clinique Quick Bronze Self Tanner Review

Written on May 25th, 2006 by ProductAddictionno shouts

Although I am normally a fan of Clinique’s skin care line, I have to say I was less than impressed with their self tanner – more specifically the “Quick Bronze” self tanner. I liked the fact that the cream base was deeply colored/tinted, because now that I’m an experienced “self tanner”, I know the importance of having a tinted color so you can see where you’ve put the stuff on and where you haven’t, plus it gives you a nice little instant color boost if you’re white as a ghost, which I tend to let myself be between applications of bronzer and tanner.

While I like the fact that the Clinique Quick Bronze was colored nicely (a deep rich brown/copper color), the formula was simply too thick and sticky for me. I tend to like it a little more sheer. I don’t have a problem with thicker cream based self tanners usually, because they absorb into the skin and evaporate eventually, but with this I felt as though I had a sticky film on my skin all day.

Sorry Clinique – Thumbs down on this self tanner, since there are plenty out there that will give you the same color without the excessive stickiness.

Rosacea Skin Care Reviews Coming Soon

Written on May 24th, 2006 by ProductAddictionno shouts

Pretty soon you will see some new reviews for rosacea and acne rosacea skin care.  I know of a line that has worked well for lots of people – it’s all natural, and I actually used their acne skin care line to clear up my acne years ago and it worked great.

It’s the Zenmed line of skin care, which you may hear me talk about frequently in this blog – reviews soon to come…

Hollywood Prescription Two Step Lip Treatment (Paris Hilton)

Written on May 24th, 2006 by ProductAddictionno shouts

If you’ve ever shopped around for lip plumpers, those awesome, new wave products that “plump” up the lips naturally and give you a sexier pout, you’ve undoubtedly run across the Hollywood Prescription two step lip treatment (endorsed by Paris Hilton, who apparently uses a LOT of lip plumpers judging by her inflated lips many times).

This product is appealingly packaged, and actually contains two products, meant as two steps for plumping your lips.

One is a lip exfoliator, which helps to take away the outermost layer of skin, and helps the “plumping” ingredients absorb better and plump the lips better.

This Two Step Hollywood Prescription Lip plumper product has been pretty well-reviewed so far – it’s available in the Amazon link to the right – and lots of customers on there have posted reviews if you want to see more.

OBey Your Body Dead Sea Minerals Nail Kit

Written on May 23rd, 2006 by ProductAddiction3 shouts

I bought this neat little nail kits from a kiosk at the mall (I was actually hunted down by the owners of the kiosk to try their product, I’ll admit it), that’s from a company called OBey your Body Dead Sea products. It’s a complete nail kit that has a moisturizing lotion, a nail buffer with three sides for different uses on your nails, and a cuticle oil. Sounds pretty simple, but the best part about this kit is the three sided buffer.

The nail buffer actually does three things. The first side you use for like 10 seconds going one way, and this supposedly cleans the nail surface and preps it for the shining and the nail polish application. The second side buffs it out more, and the final step actually shines your nail up a lot, so it looks like you’re wearing a clear polish but you really aren’t.

I’m not a big nail polish or nail product person, but I do like to keep my toes in tip top shape in the summer since everyone sees them, so I do try to keep a fresh coat of polish on them at all times. This nail kit is ideal for my toenails because it helps the nail polish adhere a lot longer than it usually does, plus, my toe nails tend to look a little bumpy sometimes, and this really smoothes it out.
