Cheap Eyeshadow : Why I Prefer It

Written on June 6th, 2006 by ProductAddictionno shouts

You know, I’d like to say I have a lot of class when it comes to cosmetics, but I guess I don’t when it comes to one particular cosmetic : eyeshadow.  Sure, I treat my skin to the best skin care products, and probably spend WAY too much on skincare, but when it comes to actual cosmetics, I’m pretty much happy as a clam with the standard basics in eyeshadow and mascara.

I use L’Oreal Lash Out mascara, which is about $7 a tube at your local WalMart, and the eyeshadow I use ranges from Cover Girl to L’Oreal to El Cheapo brand Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen (yes I am 31 years old, but some of their makeup is actually decent!).

The eyeshadow I’m using now is actually a brand I’m not even sure I’ve ever heard of.  Ever get one of those huge eyeshadow kits for Christmas from someone who doesn’t know what the hell else to get for you?  That’s exactly what this is.  It’s a palette of about 30 different colors of eyeshadow, and let me tell you, I’ve gotten their money’s worth out of this huge array of colored eyeshadows.

I’ve found that cheap eyeshadow goes on just the same as the more expensive stuff.  Although one thing I will say is, I’m a big fan of some of the MAC colors of eyeshadow, and other more expensive brands of makeup as well, so I do occasionally “splurge” on a non-OTC Revco/WalMart brand of eyeshadow when I find just the right shade.

The only thing that might give the more expensive eyeshadows a leg up on their cheaper counterparts is that they probably do wear a little longer.

Clear Pores Acne Treatment Products for Face and Body

Written on June 5th, 2006 by ProductAddictionone shout

Body acne is a real pain in the butt – sometimes literally.  Did you know that a lot of people search for ways to clear up “butt acne” and acne in other unmentionable places?  Of course, the most common area for acne to occur is on your face, where all of the oil glands tend to be centralized, and cause the most problems, but many people still suffer from body acne, which is most commonly on 1.) The back and 2.) The chest.

The approach to getting rid of body acne is a little different though, from treating facial acne, because body acne is not all centrally located on a very visible place, your face, and the areas tend to gather a lot more dirt and grime, since they are not as protected as the face, with protective lotions and sunscreens, etc., since we are so careful to treat our faces to the utmost protection.

Clear Pores is a comprehensive acne treatment system which offers two different approaches to clearing Body vs. Facial Acne, both are best when the natural skin supplement is used with them too (it comes with the set, but you can purchase the products separately too).

You may notice that if you get acne on your back and chest, that it does tend to get worse in the summer.  This is because our bodies sweat a lot more in the summer, even though the clothes we wear tend to be less restrictive, we still have clothes on these areas, and dirt, grime and grease tend to get trapped in these areas and cause the pores to become clogged, resulting in acne lesions.

A lot of times to, to our dismay, the acne bumps on our backs and chests, and elsewhere, tend ot result in whiteheads a lot more too, simply because these areas are not paid much attention to, since we can’t see them and treat them as easily as our face.  Not only that, we cannot properly extract the zits on our back and chest as readily, since they are at an awkward angle.

One of the best systems to completely treat body acne, which also will target the acne on your face if you choose to take the skin clearing supplement too, and not just use the acne wash and protective cream, is the Clear Pores Body Acne Treatment System

They have tons of before and after pictures of their clients, and then pages and pages of testimonials showing what their comprehensive acne treatment systems have done for these customers.  I recommend you take a look if you’re looking to clear either bodily or facial acne.

Fusion Beauty LiftFusion Micro-Injected M-Tox Transdermal Face Lift

Written on June 4th, 2006 by ProductAddictionone shout

Is this new Fusion Beauty “Face Lift Alternative” really worth the price tag of $140?  I’ve read some pretty bad reviews so far on Lip Fusion’s expanding line of beauty products (Fusion Beauty is the name of the manufacturer of Lip Fusion).  Good wrinkle creams are hard to come by these days, that actually do what they say.  I have reviewed some though that think are well worth the money here : Best Wrinkle Creams

Fusion Beauty’s most notable addition is a serum/lotion that reportedly firms the skin instantly on contact like Botox does, presumably with much of the same technology that gives Lip Fusion it’s oomph when it’s applied to your lips.

I’ve only seen one review of Lift Fusion Micro Injected Face Lift, and it wasn’t all that impressive.  The person that reviewed it said it was a complete waste of money (and an even bigger waste when you consider the hefty price tag of $140 for just one bottle of product).  See the review for yourself here : LiftFusion Review

The product probably contains a high grade hyaluronic acid in it, which immediately plumps the skin, and makes wrinkles literally disappear in front of your eyes.

Now, I’ve used quite a few of these instantly plumping skin products for wrinkles, and while they do work right away on your skin, and make a noticeable difference in your skin by making the wrinkles disappear, they do not by any means, last all day.

I tried one of these types of products that I purchased from HSN (yes, I got sucked in by the Home Shopping Network one day when I was at home, bored lol), and while the product produced awesome results right away on the crows feet under my eyes, it actually made my lines look worse when it wore off, because it had actually dried the area out.

Anyone Tried These Hydroderm Products Yet?

Written on June 3rd, 2006 by ProductAddictionno shouts

I can’t help but see “Hydroderm” ads plastered allover the place for their cellulite product and their anti aging wrinkle serum on Yahoo, MSN and everywhere else (gosh, I’d hate to see their advertising bill!).  I have yet to use any of this company’s products, and I know a lot of other women must be curious about their effectiveness, after being inundated with their advertisements over and over.

Has anyone tried any of these products?  I’d really appreciate an honest review, so we can all see if their worth the money!  Anyone having a Hydroderm review, please comment.  Thanks!

I Think I Know What Botox Feels Like Now…

Written on June 2nd, 2006 by ProductAddictionno shouts

This is really neither here nor there, but I just got a gum graft procedure ( I know – fun ) and got local anasthetic shot into my mouth about ten times.  I can’t feel the entire lower half of my face, and it’s already been 3 1/2 hours since I was injected.

My boyfriend said that it looked like I had gotten botox, because the lower half of my mouth and chin and my upper lip couldn’t move even if I tried.  Guess I’m never getting Botox – I hate this!

What is Mesotherapy for Cellulite?

Written on June 1st, 2006 by ProductAddictionno shouts

I’m going to be posting a more thorough article about this fairly controversial cellulite treatment shortly, but wanted to briefly bring up what mesotherapy is.  Mesotherapy is a type of treatment that can be used for several things, but has come over into the US, from France, for the treatment and elimination of cellulite.

How Does Mesotherapy Work?

Just a short description of mesotherapy is that it is a series of shots in the affected cellulite areas.  A total of about 15-20 treatments is needed, and the after effects can include swelling, redness, itching and burning.

It is actually a mixture of whatever natural compounds the technician uses that is injected into your subcutaneous layers of fat.  The reason it takes so many treatments is that only small areas are treated at a time, to allow for full recovery between cellulite treatments.  It’s expensive though – full treatment runs around $5,000 and up.  More on this to come…
