Beauty Finds at TJ Maxx
Today I was at one of my favorite bargain hunting stores, TJ Maxx, and as usual, I had to check out their cosmetics, body care and fragrance section since you never know what kind of beauty stuff you’ll find their at deep discounts. This time I found quite a bit of stuff, although I limited myself to buy only one of them (yes, I’m very proud:)
The first thing I noticed was, as usual, they had a ton of Elizabeth Arden skin care stocked. Every time I go in they have an abundance of Elizabeth Arden, which I happen to think is a pretty good brand, but mostly for their fragrances. Either these items are not big sellers in the department stores where they are sold for full price, or they overstock them and have to send them to mark down establishments on a routine basis.
The one thing that I noticed this time, which I’ve never seen before, were just a few Dr. Perricone skin care products sprinkled in. And when I say few, I mean very few. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Dr. NV Perricone, he is renowned for his work in the skincare field, and has a respected line of pharmaceutical grade, high octane vitamin infused skin care products that are aimed at anti aging, toning and evening out color.
So I was really shocked to see any of his products there, but they were not really what you’d call a bargain, since even on mark down they still ran fifty to sixty dollars for a small tube of product. But hey, when you’re used to paying a hundred dollars or more for your skin care products, this is a bargain! The products I noticed were his DMAE and Vitamin C products for aging skin.
There were a lot of items from the Gap Body line as well, mostly bath and shower gels and lotions. There were also quite a few fragrances by everyone from Calvin Klein to Elizabeth Arden, but I’ve heard you may want to be careful not buying scents from the department store, since ones as discount establishments may be older and have lost some of their scent.
