Neutrogena SPF 30 Stick

Filed under: Body Care — ProductAddiction @ 4:46 pm

Well, I bought a Neutrogena SPF 30 product in the form of a solid stick, much like a chapstick would be, but only it is an oblong shape so it can cover a broader surface area.  I thought since I usually like Neutrogena products I would like it, but it proves to be hard to apply and I think it also made me break out on my face because the consistency really is that of a chapstick or lip balm, and I just don’t think that could possible not clog the pores like it says.

I used it on my face to prevent the sun from bouncing off the snow and getting my face a couple times when I had to help shovel the driveway and do some other outdoor activities, because believe it or not, it is just as easy to get sun damage on bright snowy days as it is on a warm summer day when the sun is out.

Well, the product is hard to apply because you can’t really tell where the product actually went and what still needs touched up, like you could if you applied a cream with your hands.  It goes on smoothly enough, but then you find out of paranoia you are rubbing it over the same spots over and over again for fear you missed some critical areas.

And forget about trying to put it on your fingers or hands and then put it on your face, because it doesn’t work.  It has a slightly greasy texture, and I must say, I did not find it comfortable on my skin, so I tried to wash it off as soon as I could after the needed sun protection was achieved.  All in all, I’m not a fan of this product, unless you want to use it to cover a specific area like perhaps a healing scar that you don’t want to expose to UV rays, or a birthmark or your lips.
