Today is my first day wearing the Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals makeup, and so far I think I’m liking it.

Bare Minerals is probably the most popular mineral powder makeup that acts as a foundation, bronzer/blush and sealant right now. Mineral makeup really started to catch on about 2-3 years ago.

Suddenly a lot of my coworkers and friends were singing the praises of the flawlessness they thought the makeup gave their skin, and how smooth and natural it felt compared to traditional liquid foundations, which often times contain ingredients that are not natural, and not too “skin friendly”.

So, I decided to take the plunge, and on a whim yesterday at the mall, I went ahead and got the starter kit by Bare Minerals, for $60 at Sephora. It comes with 4 different powders, 2 SPF 15 base or foundation powders, a bronzing mineral powder, and a “mineral veil” which basically seals it all in, and lessens the look of lines and imperfections.

When I first applied all 3 steps, I wasn’t too sure if I liked it for about twenty to thirty minutes, then as it “set”, I really liked the subtle yet even coverage it provided. I may have more to add as I use this mineral makeup more, so stay tuned!
