When I read this I couldn’t help but gulp a little bit. Because, well, it’s just kinda gross. I’ve read and heard about a lot of different things that are on the cusp when it comes to anti aging, but this one is truly messing with what nature gave you – right down to the bone – literally.
Researchers have been looking for all the pieces to an aging face. While it used to be thought that the major reason behind an aged look was simply wrinkles and loss of facial fat, as well as things like age spots an discolorations, it is now thought that the bones actually sink and recede with age.
So, not only are you fighting the battle on the surface with the first few layers of your skin, but you are also facing the fact that now you also have to deal with your bones actually changing shape as well.
Since your bone structure provides all the foundation for your facial tissue, your bone’s shape has significant effect on the way your face looks. It can make your face look more or less lifted, contour areas of your face that you like to be contoured, such as the ever-important jawline and the cheekbones, and overall give you that coveted chiseled, model look.
When you age, not only do your jaw bones wear away and drop apparently, but your eye socket bones also do the same, and so do your cheekbones. So you may be dealing with a sort of overall drooping effect on your face because of your basic bone structure altering right before your eyes.
When I look at my face, I notice these subtle changes. Looking back, it does look like my eyes weren’t as “set in” to my head, now they are set a bit deeper, which gives me a bit of a more hollowed out, aged look. I also notice that my jawline is not as prominent, and I do facial exercises on my way into work in the car every morning to try to combat the “waddle” or the turkey neck look.
I think that you can really help your facial structure out a lot by doing special facial anti aging exercises, you just have to do them consistently and correctly for them to have the right effect. As far as your actual bones go, well, one thing you want to make sure you get enough of in your diet to keep your bones strong is vitamin C and calcium, both of which help eachother to absorb, and you also want to make sure you are getting enough healthy dietary fat and vitamin D.
These nutrients will help your bones stay lifted, strong, and long for a larger span of time, and your face hence will look younger.
